This is a correction to the existing bass tablature
for U2's 'With or Without You'. The existing tab is not
accurate in depicting the style in which the song must be
played.
There are two ways you can play this song, and I
will include both. I personally prefer the second method
because of the deep mellowness it achives by being all on
the E string.

| - Indicates a bar line.
- Indicates a slide.
h - Indicates a hammer-on.

For both methods described, count the rythm as
"one and two and three and four".
Tempo = 116 bpm
Tuning = Standard (EADG)

U2's "With or Without You" - _The Joshua Tree_ Track 3 (4:56)
(C) 1987 Island Records, Ltd.

Method #1

E 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10|---------------|----------------|
A -----------------------|0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0|2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-|
D -----------------------|---------------|----------------|
G -----------------------|---------------|----------------|

E 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 ||
A --------------- ||
D --------------- ||
G --------------- ||

The only change is after the last chorus, where Adam just
taps the 'D' string for two measures, and then begins the
figure above again.

Method #2 (I like this one more! This is the way Adam plays
it live. To play along to a live recording, tune 1/2 step
flat. (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb)

E 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10|5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5|7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7|
A ------------------------|---------------|----------------|
D ------------------------|---------------|----------------|
G ------------------------|---------------|----------------|

E 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 || Slide back up to 10 and start over.
A ---------------- || Play this kinda loose. Be really
D ---------------- || on top of the beat during the measures
G ---------------- || but 'cheat' a little on the slides.
Just groove it a little to make it
interesting.

Occasionally, Adam Clayton will play the final verse an
octave higer, in order to set up the thrilling final chorus
in the live rendition of the song. To hear this, listen to
some shows form the 1987-89 Joshua Tree/Love Town tours.
The higer part goes a bit like this...

E 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-|17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17|

E 19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-|15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15||

or

E 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-|-----------------------|
A ------------------------|12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12|

E ------------------------|15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15||
A 14-14-14-14-14-14-14-14-|-----------------------||
